Hello, if you've been looking for a video to clearly demonstrate how to use quantization in FL studio, you've come to the right place. Now, for those who don't know, quantization is the alignment of musical notes or events to a predefined parameter, Like Quarter Notes, Eight Notes, 16th Notes and so forth.Lets get into it.Now there are two ways you can quantize in FL studio. You can quantize in the piano roll, O r you can Auto Quantize, but first we'll talk about quantizing in the piano roll. So lets record a melody so that we have notes in the piano roll .*Record a simple melody*Now if I play it back, you can here that the sounds trigger kind of loosely, or not on quit on time. So what quantization does is that it tightens up the notes to give them more exact timing. These are the steps to do that. Step 1. Highlight the notes you would like to quantize.Step 2. Click the Down Arrow then Tools then Quantize.Step 3. Click accept. Now Lets play it Back.Do you hear the difference? Now lets Talk about Automatic Quantization. Automatic quantization is the same as before, but FL studio will automatically quantize what ever you play in real time. For this example we are going to quantize to 16th notes or 1/4th of a beat.Why they just don't just use regular musical terms? I don't know.Step 1. Change the snap Paremeter to 1/4th of a beat. You can change this depending on the kind of rythms you intend to play but for this example we are going to use 1/4th.Now lets record and listen to it quantize what I play in real time. *record a simple melody and let it play back in real time quantized*As you can see , FL studio has Automatically Quantized the melody I played.If you don't want FL studio To do this, go back up to the top and click None , on the snap parameter.
